The Breede River Resort and fishing Lodge is truly an exceptional holiday venue, set amongst rolling wheat land in Southern Cape, on the banks of the mighty Breede River. The hotel is situated in a conservancy area, a nature lovers paradise, part of the Eco Organisation and surrounded by game animal and floral reserves. Our excursions take you from fishing in the mile wide river, to watching whales in St Sebastian Bay, Southern Africa's largest nursery area for the southern right and sperm whales. You can also choose a trip to historic Swellendam, and the neighbouring wine lands, or to the De Hoop coastal Fynbis and marine reserve. The restaurant offers Cape country cuisine. Full South African breakfasts and light meals are served daily.

Transportation - Breede River Resort Witsand
Driving directions from Cape Town International Airport - CPT Take the N2 to George. Travel through Riviersonderend and Swellendam. 1st turn off - r324 - Witsand/Port Beaufort. Gravel Road all the way to the lodge. 2nd turn off - 40km after Swellendam. R322 Witsand/Port beaufort - 3km before Heidelberg, road then leads you all the way to the lodge. Turn right off the N2. Drive about 37km to Witsand. Cross the 4 way stop and you will find the lodge in time, on the bank of the river to your left.
